I bought two seed cakes that weight 2.5 pounds...at least and do not know if I could put it in a large wire mesh bird feeder cage?
Can I?Does anyone know how to use a Squirrel Seed cake? ?
I think the wire mesh would make it harder for the squirrels to access it. Try putting it on a table or post in your yard.

Feed the baby squirrel esbilac powder, mix only enough for 24hrs and keep it refrigerated. Esbilac is a puppy milk replacer, which you should be able to purchase at a vet or pet store. Cow鈥檚 milk, goat鈥檚 milk, human baby formulas, and most pet products (except Esbilac) are not suitable and will likely cause death. Use a 1cc or 5cc oral syringe (try a vet or pharmacy), warm the formula, and hold the squirrel in a towel, firmly, and covering its eyes. The squirrel will suck very quickly and take too much formula if you are not in total control. If this happens the squirrel will sneeze formula out of its nose 鈥?Stop feeding, turn upside down, gently rub its back, and gently wipe the excess formula from its nose. Repeat this for about 5 minutes or until the sneezing stops and breathing returns to normal. If severe this can cause immediate death or pneumonia on a long-term basis. This is why bottles are not suitable to use. kitten milk most grocery stores carry it you also have to rub there genitals with a warm moist rag so the go to the bathroom the mother squirrel would normally. Then again you could contact your local wildlife officer. Most squirrels even raised by human still grow wild and have to be released at least that way they won't attack people.

The baby squirrel needs a formula especially for squirrels. Don't give it cow's milk, or human infant formula. This may harm him, leading to digestive problems and/or malnutrition. Take him to a vet and ask about getting a baby squirrel formula.
You can get some great pet milk at a vet or a pet store.

Also let them eat as much as they want sometimes it isant very much and sometimes it's alot, but they eat as much as they want and thats okay. They will need to be Fed once every three hours, with an eye dropper or medicine seringe.

Say a person was allergic to all sorts of nuts. Every single nut. That person ate squirrel meat, would that person get sick from the squirrel meat?

If the question is actually taken literally the squirrel would be looking at himself after its 30th trip at which point it will be travelling at 408021893.12m/s (if I've done my maths correctly). It is during the squirrel's 30th trip that it has reached the speed of light and time would quite literally have stood still. By the time it reached the end of the pipe the sqirrel would have succeeded in travelling back in time and be looking at him or her self in the past. Or to think of it another way, the squirrel would have literally overtaken the light rays which are travelling through the pipe and if it stuck its head in the pipe after its 30th run the image hitting its eyes would be of itself sticking its head into the other end of the pipe. In theory it would then also be possible to take a photo of the event where the squirrel is sitting at both ends of the pipe at the same time. Of course it is quite debatable whether such time travel really is possible or whether the squirrel would have survived breaking the sound barrier or whether the squirrel could even find the end of the pipe while travelling at those speeds because any image that actually enters its eyes would be highly distorted (kind of like watching the starship enterprise engaging its warp drive) or whether the squirrel would not have escaped the earth's gravitational pull.

we went squirrel hunting the other day and i wanted to dry a foot but don't know how, can someone tell me the best way please.How to dry a squirrel foot?

I suggest you to give to an local wildness animal shelter, look up in interent in your local, anyway make sure after handling him, wash ur HANDS, no offense after all he is wild. As typical answer, take him to vet to advice u wt to do or somebody trustworthy. Keep him warm by placing a box with suggle towels. feed it warm goat's milk (you can get it in the bakery aisle of the grocery store) mixed with water. make a 50/50 mix. use a 3 cc syringe to feed it. don't use an eye dropper as they can suck the milk out too quickly and aspirate on it. keep it warm in a box with towels. wrap a 20 ounce bottle of hot water in a sock to keep it warm. babies need to be fed every 4 to 6 hours around the clock. raising baby is a lot of work. very rewarding. If you don't have the time or dedication required, contact your vet and find out if they know of any rehabbers. All our babies come from vet referrals. Not a good idea to keep for a pet. much happier in wild. not to mention how destructive they can be in the house. what area are you located at?

I think the suit jacket would inhibit the free swing of the arm, so no. The hat might work well to absorb any sweat on the brow of the squirrel that could potentially run into his eyes and affect his vision, but I think the negative effect of the jacket on the basic mechanics of the swing would outweigh the good of the hat.Do you think a Squirrel with a Suit %26amp; Hat on would do well in a game of Bowling?

I've been feeding a friendly squirrel throughout spring/summer/fall and now through winter. Can I assume he is one of few in Ohio that didn't hibernate? Did I hurt this squirrel's chances of survival now that he may of opted out of hibernation? Squirrels on semi hibernate. They carry food to their den tree spring, summer and fall. Winter comes they may sleep for several days and then get out searching for food but usually eat stored food from their 'midden' heap as the food they stored is called.You have in no way harmed this animal so quit worrying.
Squirrels don't hibernate like the tortoise or hedgehog.
When it is very cold they semi hibernate, but whenever the temperature rises a little they wake up even in the middle of Winter and hunt for caches of food.
Yours is probably fine, in fact he would have stored up quite a lot of fat reserves when you were feeding him so would have stood a better chance of surviving.

Load the syringe with the diluted milk making certain there is NO air in the tube. DROP by DROP, introduce milk to the baby. DO NOT force. Forcing will flood the baby and it will aspirate/inhale the liquid, drowning or causing pneumonia.
** correct not to feed a cold baby** Milk does'; NOT ROT in their guts'; and set up other diseases.

I had a 760 as a youngster and tried to hunt squirrels with it. After one bad expierence with a lost animal after numerous hits I quit. I got a Diana spring gun and then was able to take squirrels and rabbits cleanly, but only with head shots. I was handicaped by only being able to get diablo style pellets in my area in those days. I wouldn't hunt with a 760. If you like pump guns get a Benjiman or a Sheriden.

I killed a squirrel in my backyard w/ a 760. I pumped it to the max, used a pointed pellet and was maybe 12 yards away. She jumped around 5 or 6 times and then lay still. Pretty good, eh?

You, can hunt squirrels with anything you want, like a BB gun, pellet rifle, a stick, rock or even an empty beer can. BUT, if your intentions are to kill said squirrels, you would do better with a real gun, like a .22 caliber rifle, rather than a toy.
Before going hunting with any type of weapon, be sure to take a gun/hunter safety course.
I'm not sure what kind of velocity you can get with this particular pellet gun. Personally, I don't recommend shooting at small game with a pellet gun that shoots anything less than 900 fps. I've skinned out too many squirrels and rabbits that had pellets just under their skin from under powered guns. Also, check local laws. In many areas it's illegal to hunt small game with pellet guns. Do your best to get very close and take only clean head shots to dispatch the animal quickly and cleanly.
I killed a few squirrels with my 760, but you should save up and get a .22 instead unless you are hunting somewhere you have to be more quiet. If you stay with the 760, use pointed pellets and make sure you pump your 760 all the way up (10 pumps), but don't ever pump it more than 10 times. Over pumping is bad for the gun. Squirrels are tough, and make sure they are dead before you pick them up. One time I shot a squirrel through the head with my 10/22 Ruger and when I picked it up it woke up and tried to bite me. I had to beat it to death with a stick. That was no fun at all.

I had a 760 as a youngster and tried to hunt squirrels with it. After one bad expierence with a lost animal after numerous hits I quit. I got a Diana spring gun and then was able to take squirrels and rabbits cleanly, but only with head shots. I was handicaped by only being able to get diablo style pellets in my area in those days. I wouldn't hunt with a 760. If you like pump guns get a Benjiman or a Sheriden.

I killed a squirrel in my backyard w/ a 760. I pumped it to the max, used a pointed pellet and was maybe 12 yards away. She jumped around 5 or 6 times and then lay still. Pretty good, eh?

You, can hunt squirrels with anything you want, like a BB gun, pellet rifle, a stick, rock or even an empty beer can. BUT, if your intentions are to kill said squirrels, you would do better with a real gun, like a .22 caliber rifle, rather than a toy.
Before going hunting with any type of weapon, be sure to take a gun/hunter safety course.
I'm not sure what kind of velocity you can get with this particular pellet gun. Personally, I don't recommend shooting at small game with a pellet gun that shoots anything less than 900 fps. I've skinned out too many squirrels and rabbits that had pellets just under their skin from under powered guns. Also, check local laws. In many areas it's illegal to hunt small game with pellet guns. Do your best to get very close and take only clean head shots to dispatch the animal quickly and cleanly.
I killed a few squirrels with my 760, but you should save up and get a .22 instead unless you are hunting somewhere you have to be more quiet. If you stay with the 760, use pointed pellets and make sure you pump your 760 all the way up (10 pumps), but don't ever pump it more than 10 times. Over pumping is bad for the gun. Squirrels are tough, and make sure they are dead before you pick them up. One time I shot a squirrel through the head with my 10/22 Ruger and when I picked it up it woke up and tried to bite me. I had to beat it to death with a stick. That was no fun at all.

I take the squirrel out when the meat will fall off the bones.
Then I remove all the meat place back in the squirrel broth with the dumplings and cook it till the dumplings are cooked.
I use the a chicken and dumplings recipe, and just replace the chicken with squirrel about 3 to 4 squirrels per recipe.
I use standard beef recipes for deer or antelope and poultry recipes for squirrel and rabbit and it works very well.
Venison stroganoff words can not describe how good that is when you use the tenderloin of the deer.

1 bay leaf
DIRECTIONS
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear the squirrel and liver until browned on the outside. Transfer to a slow cooker. Add the onions, carrots, bell pepper and garlic. Stir in the tomato juice. Season with salt, pepper, oregano, thyme and bay leaf. Cover, and cook on High for 6 hours.
Squirrel and dumplings is hard to beat.

I think I understand your question . Are you saying you HEAR an animal in your home ? We did have that problem and being that I am an animal lover I decided it was one squirrel and I was wrong . It turned out to be roofrats that are very common and can cause alot of problems . If you live near water ( even small creeks , a wooded area , or where there is building going on ) animals will try to find a warm spot in the winter months especially . They leave scent trails and of course breed so I would call a professional to see what it is . All these animals chew and the biggest problem is chewing electrical cords which cause a high percentage of house fires . I dont recommend owning a squirrel. I have a wild life rehabitation center here in Texas. I have a handicapped male squirrel. He thinks of me as mommy. But you have to know how to take care of them. When he gets upset he bites. It takes an expert to raise them. I recommend owning a sugar glider instead. Booger is 6 yrs old and that is really old for a squirrel. I only hopes he makes it to his next birthday in Feb.
Get sugar gliders if they are not illegal in your state they are safer and are ALOT like flying squirrels and get suggies from a rescue NOT A BREEDER!!!

i like my squirrel with butter, lots of it and some cayenne pepper and i put it in my crock pot over night, with a coupla onions and i thicken the stew with some flour. you can add potatos to you likening if you like too

You should bring it to the nearest wildlife rehabilitator. It may be rewarding to try and help this little creature but you may be doing more long term damamge than help. Your average squirrel is a wild animal, not a domesticated one. There is an important, and major distinction between tame and domesticated. Squirrels have not been domesticated so even a tame one (that was perhaps poorly hand-raised) is still a wild animal. I encourage you to engage your wild neighbors in there own habitat; put out feeders or plant plants they would enjoy. It is what is right for both of you. Although I don't know where you live I am willing to bet it is illegal to own a squirrel as a pet without a permit.

just keep the nuts flowing guy and if there are any in the area they will eventually sniff them out but you kow my feelings on the romans oops did i say romans i ment rodants..!

I've never heard of a squirrel house. It might be tough to get them to move in, because it can't possibly be as warm as their leaf home with its pockets of air that retain heat.
